Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use apply when you visit the Lantern website or use Lantern software. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Lantern.
Lantern is a software product operated by Citivision Pty Ltd, which is the contracting entity and payment recipient for Lantern subscriptions. ABN 27 668 249 563.
Support: support@lanternlite.com.au. Billing: accounts@lanternlite.com.au.
What Lantern provides
Lantern is a software service that helps care providers organise their work and build confidence over time. Lantern is the commercial product. Full core Lantern functionality is included from day one. There are no separate paid feature tiers.
Each organisation begins with a 14-day Lantern trial — no credit card required to begin. Starting the Lantern-managed trial does not create a charge. The trial does not automatically charge you. A paid subscription begins only after you choose to subscribe and complete payment checkout. Features can change as we improve the product.
Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
All prices are displayed in Australian dollars. The amount shown at checkout is the amount charged. GST applies to paid Lantern subscriptions. Any applicable GST treatment will be shown on the relevant receipt or tax invoice.
Lantern’s monthly price is AUD $5 base, plus AUD $2 per active Team Member and AUD $4 per active Participant, plus GST. Billable quantities are based on active Team Members and Participants. Archived or inactive people do not count toward billing.
Paid subscriptions are monthly only. Paid subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled.
You may cancel renewal through the supported billing process. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and prevents the next renewal. Cancellation does not ordinarily create a prorated refund for the current paid period. Refunds remain available where required under Australian Consumer Law. If you see a duplicate or incorrect charge, please contact accounts@lanternlite.com.au.
Records are not automatically deleted merely because a trial or subscription ends.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account without permission.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Lantern for anything unlawful or harmful;
- try to break into, disrupt, or overload the service or related systems;
- copy, scrape, or misuse content or data you are not allowed to access;
- upload malware or material that infringes someone else’s rights; or
- use Lantern in a way that could harm people, organisations, or our ability to run the service fairly for everyone.
Customer responsibility
You are responsible for the information your organisation enters into Lantern, including participant and workforce records, and for deciding how that information is used inside your organisation. You must only upload information you are entitled to hold and use.
Lantern is a tool to support your organisation. It does not replace your professional, legal, or regulatory responsibilities as a care provider.
Availability
We aim to keep Lantern available and reliable. Like any online service, there may be interruptions for maintenance, updates, or events outside our control. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times.
Intellectual property
Lantern — including our software, branding, and website content — belongs to Citivision Pty Ltd or its licensors. You may use the service as offered, but you do not gain ownership of our intellectual property.
You keep ownership of the content and records your organisation uploads. You give us permission to host and process that content only as needed to provide Lantern to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Australian law, Lantern is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We are not liable for loss that could not reasonably have been foreseen, or for indirect loss such as lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, except where the law says we cannot exclude that liability.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
Ending or suspending an account
You may stop using Lantern at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if there is a security or legal risk, or if we discontinue the service. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. If a dispute arises, the courts of Australia will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The “Last updated” date on this page will change when we do. Continued use of Lantern after an update means you accept the revised terms.
